My name is Siddarth Rudraraju. I am a Grade 11 student at Chirec International School.

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected all of us in different ways. Perhaps the most unfortunate are the daily wage earners, migrant labourers and the financially poor.

Millions of workers in India may sink into poverty due to the corona virus crisis. The COVID-19 pandemic has forced the nation to proceed to a lockdown. This had a horrible effect on working hours and the earnings of workers and the unemployment rate began to increase . Many jobs were lost which pushed many citizens into poverty. Back then the United Nations reported that at least 400 million people in India would fall deeper into poverty. Due to this many people are not able to afford essential goods such as food and water.

Even after the lockdown is lifted, their plight remains the same as jobs will be scarce. They fear starvation more than the virus itself.

We are the privileged ones and it is our duty to step up to help them through these difficult times. I request all of you to support my campaign so that we can also ease their hardship in our own small way. This campaign aims to provide meals and bottled water to them across Hyderabad and is done by Akshaya Patra( through their kitchens) in close coordination with the local administration. Let's come together and do our bit to help our fellow countrymen.
