My name is Aditya Mukherjee. I am 15 years old and a Grade 10 student at CPS GLOBAL, CHENNAI.

Let me tell you more about this campaign of mine. A few days ago, I attended a session with the Fueladream.com team informing us about a crowdfunding program which can help generate funds for the elderly people who need cataract surgeries. And who could imagine that a cataract operation can be done at just a meagre INR 1,000! But sadly, according to a survey conducted by AIIMS 2019, 66.2% of all blind people in India are actually untreated cataract patients. And this possibility of treatment at INR 1,000 was impetus enough for me to do my bit and help in whatever way I can.

Vision is essential, and losing it, esp, in the later years of your life can be devastating. Imagine seeing everything perfectly, only to find out that one day, you will lose it, and the worst part, you cannot afford the treatment. That is exactly what hundreds of people go through - incapacitated to afford the surgery, they are compelled to see only darkness, spend the rest of their lives in darkness. I felt that we cannot be complacent when there are people who need our helping hand. That is what motivated me to be part of this initiative.

An appeal to all is that even a small contribution of INR 1,000 can help in bringing the world of vision back to these people and make their lives normal once again. Please support my campaign and let us together bring light back into these people’s lives.
