My name is Eesha Karthikeyan. I am 15 years old and a Grade 11 student at CPS GLOBAL, ANNA NAGAR, CHENNAI.

Over the past few months, I have learned about the complexity of illness. How all-consuming it becomes. How people feel less like themselves, and more like a burden. A liability. And just like that, I learned more about disability. Disability is a topic people tread lightly over. People are uncomfortable with their immense privilege and so they assume the worst when it comes to disability. But the more I learn about myself, the more I wish to help people look at themselves with pride, to understand that they are not a product of their past. Disabled people are told all their life that they are less than. But they are not. And that's where we can help!

This campaign of mine will make a massive impact on the lives of villagers in rural TN. It will literally help them get back on their feet, get jobs, get active, and be a boon to both the beneficiaries and their families.

Giving prosthetics to villagers who have lost a leg is transformational. Many of these villagers are victims of accidents that have left them with stumps. They find it very difficult to get jobs, mobility is a challenge, their self-esteem is robbed and sometimes their families see them as a liability. Just INR 11000 is all it takes to transform the life of a person.
