My name is Deepa Chandrashekar, I am a passionate HR professional.
The birth of a girl is celebrated with joy in certain communities in India. Not because the daughter will bring joy or happiness to the family, but because she can be sold to a brothel when she is older and earn money for them by selling her body to multiple customers. It is extremely disturbing and disheartening to know what young girls go through in life because of poverty and illiteracy of their parents.
It is extremely important to rescue and transform the lives of these girls. Every survivor has to reject the predominant message of being unwanted and believe that she is worthy of love and a normal life. Freedom Firm has been transforming the lives of young girls for the last 13 years. The cost of rescuing one girl is INR 55,000.
