My name is Manohar. I am a sevak in Chinmaya Mission.
I am undertaking this campaign because I believe the far-reaching vision of Gurudev.
I believe he saw years, decades ahead of us. And what he saw will come to fruitition.
From my own experience, the education system system today is geared to allow
people to improve their standard of living. But it does little to raise the standard of life itself.
The schools and colleges of the Mission impart the values of our civilization so that the
young people become not only successful in their careers but are able to define what
"success" means to themselves.
The biggest challenge facing India is delivering such education to everyone, especially the
poor, the marginalised, the neglected. If we are able to lift them up, India will be transformed.
This will not happen overnight. Korea, Taiwan, Hongkong, Singapore, China: the Asian
economies that first caught up with us and then overtook us took decades to rise. It will take
India too several decades. But even a journey of a million miles begins with the first step.
Let us take that step today.
