My name is Kaustubh and I’m from Mumbai. I’m married for 13 years and I have a 7-year-old daughter. As a father, I feel it is my duty to keep my child safe at all times. But what about the countless other little girls and women who unfortunately do not have the care, love and concern?

I was appalled to learn about the scale and gory details behind the sex trafficking industry. Its modern slavery and there is an urgent need for us to do something about this. Girls and young women who are victims of this brutal practice are kidnapped, tricked into it or sold by their own parents. They need help and they need it fast. The trauma they go through is like none other.

As a very concerned citizen, I want to help in their rescue and rehabilitation. Every survivor of sex trafficking has been made to believe that they are unwanted & just a commodity. They have to be taught to believe that they are worthy of love and normal life.

This initiative of mine aims to lend a helping hand to victims of sex trafficking and help them see light after this darkness. The safe houses by the NGO YouCanFreeUs (YCFU) not only take care of their physical wellness but also their mental, legal and vocational requirements so they can truly begin again.
