My name is Ragini Singh I reside in Mumbai. I came across YCFU 3 years ago when I got a chance to learn about these women who have lost a chance to live a life of respect and love. Who has been reduced to mere commodities? It perturbs me to think what if I was a victim myself? What could my life have been? A few stray cases of eve-teasing when I had just set foot in Mumbai left me scarred for years. I cannot fathom what would the trauma be of being sold!! I shudder at the thought of how blatantly desperate families look at means of flesh trade to make ends meet!!

I always wished and even more now to do something to make women not feel like objects...a basic human right. Today I wish I could step up and transform if even one victim’s life...I would feel like a winner. I step closer to my dream to live like an offering to the world around me.

The safe house that the NGO - YouCanFreeUs (YCFU) runs not only takes care of their physical wellness but also their mental, legal and vocational requirements so they can truly begin living again. Please help these women see the light after the gory lives they have led...to let them feel and know that they can get a second chance in life to start afresh.
