About:
My name is Surabhi. I am 14 years old and in Grade 10 at the EuroSchool, Airoli. I am very passionate about helping others especially those who are less privileged than I am. As a menstruating person, issues related to menstruation and periods hit very close to home, which is why this campaign is personally very important to me.
For girls and women from financially weak backgrounds, access to sanitary napkins is a luxury. They often resort to unhygienic alternatives which can be very hazardous to health. Sanitary napkins are a basic necessity for everyone who menstruates.
Through this campaign, I intend to give them a menstrual hygiene kit that is cost-effective, lasts long, and is not too bulky. One menstrual hygiene kit costs 250rs and consists of 2 regular shields, 6 regular liners, 1 large shield, 2 large liners, 1 Instruction manual, 1 ziplock bag and 1 drawstring bag to hold everything together. These are stitched by women from low-income homes thus serving as a source of livelihood for them. These pads are made of reusable material and can be washed after every use. 1 pad lasts up to 18 months long .
I request all of you to support my campaign. Let's come together and do our bit to transform lives.
