About:
My name is Nikhilesh Yadav and I am Professor of English serving at Indira Gandhi University, Meerpur, Rewari in the state of Haryana. Born with an innate desire to find someone who would accompany me on the path to truth, I realised very early that it is rare to find someone and useless to pin hopes on others. As a result I experienced immense silence - a silence that was deep and abiding and speech seemed puny to measure the reach and expanse of silence.
I too began my life as a selfish animal who is privy to instincts, but I decided to consciously situate myself in selfless pursuits. In so doing I experienced pain, more pain till the immensity of pain overwhelmed me. On many occasions I discovered myself estranged from my own self. These were the moments I could spot opportunities to evolve, explore, and energy to strive beyond my limitations I knew as instincts. I have always been in pursuit of a master, teacher, guide who would someday teach me to live a life where I could taste the freedom from needs, wants, and desires. Though the search is still on, due to the grace I experienced in my life I got opportunities to visit places of significance where cultural care of the self was emphasised. Chinmaya International Foundation, Veliyanad , Kerala is one such space where in presence of Swami Advayanandji I got opportunity to take a plunge in Indian Intellectual Traditions. I am indebted to all those who in mysterious and myriad ways contributed to gradual evolution and now planning to scale up through Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth.
I have undertaken this campaign because I believe that the right education is the foundation for life’s journey. I was fascinated by the 3 pronged approach of this campaign and the impact it will make. This is truly about REIMAGINING EDUCATION.
1)The uniqueness of the Chinmaya University (CVV) – a global university that will transform the lives of future generations of students. This will impact and change the future.
2) In the immediate present being able to impact the lives of underprivileged students from Chinmaya Vidyalaya’s across India by supporting their education is a very high-impact initiative. The parents of these students are typically daily wage workers and many of them are illiterate and do not realise how critical education is.
3) Again in the present the Chinmaya schools need better infrastructure. The lack of it definitely impacts the quality of education and the school environment & this is a critical need.
Brick by brick, let us come together and make sure that this ‘One Knowledge – One World’ initiative is realised within our lifetimes.
