My name is Riya Mendpara. I am 16 years old and a Grade 11 student at Fountainhead School.
The pandemic has changed our lives in a myriad of ways. As we settle into the new normal, the most notable difference is how we keep ourselves and our personal effects safe by sanitizing and disinfecting. It is important that we take necessary steps towards the safety of ourselves and the ones around us.

Everyday items we purchase from vendors and shops need to be sanitized as soon as they reach us. Simply washing the food/supplies does not guarantee us the safety from the COVID-19 and using chemicals otherwise can have a counter effect on our health as we intake them or get into contact with them. What should we do then?

This brilliant innovation by Aditya Pachpande will surely help in this regard. The Suraksha Box is a product that uses UV Technology, in an enclosed environment to sterilise the objects. This was launched on October 2, 2020, with a Government of India (MC&I) patent published. It has also been approved and certified by the CSIR-CMERI of the Government of India.

The Suraksha Box will ensure that the underprivileged in Maharashtra can disinfect their items and stay safe. This will reduce their risk of falling sick and thereby help reduce the spread of COVID-19.
