About:
My name is AYESHA MOTWANI. I am a member of the Rotaract Club of Mulund Hill View, Mumbai.
10 million plus elderly people in India have cataracts and urgently need surgery to avoid going blind. Many of them are from low-income homes and cannot afford a surgery. This campaign of mine aims to help them by providing them with a free cataract surgery. Getting their eyesight back has massive implications - to their wellbeing and health, their self worth, their ability to work again and to the dynamics of the family they live with.
The fact that a contribution of just Rs 4000 can make a difference to the life of someone and give them back their sight made me realise that I must do something to help. This campaign will benefit elderly folk in and around Mumbai. They come from slums and rural pockets and cannot afford a surgery otherwise.
Please support my campaign and let us together bring light into the lives of these people. Keep funding this till the last date. While my goal is INR 20000, I would like to raise much more than that and help more elderly people see again.
The surgery will be performed at the Aastha Health Care Hospital at Mulund in Mumbai. This campaign is being done in partnership with the NGO- Motwani Chartable Trust.
The "Gift of Sight" is the "Gift of Life" for these elderly folk.
