About:
Hi! My name is Anavi. I am 15 years old and in Grade 9 at Vivek High School, Chandigarh.
I have undertaken this campaign because I was surprised to learn that many students from low-income homes don't have basic school gear like footwear, a school bag, and they actually sit on the hard ground, because they can't afford any luxuries, ones that we often take for granted.
Many of the students in rural schools in Himachal and at some schools in Punjab sit down on the floor for long periods of time. 9 in 10 students consequently face posture-related problems. It also has an indirect impact on their eyesight and their ability to concentrate and study.
The back-to-school kit costs just INR 900 (including distribution costs) and gives students a pair of recycled footwear, a study mat to sit comfortably at school or home, a school bag for books, and a cloth mask. This is a very small amount to impact a student.
With your support, together, we can help transform the lives of several children. It'll have the ability to positively impact the kids education, something that is very precious in our evolving India. And a proper education has the potential to totally change the child's future. A good education could mean the difference between a job and being homeless. It could mean the difference between being racist, sexist, and discriminatory, and being secular, the difference between an educated and well informed vote, and a randomized, easily bribed one. It could mean the difference between being made a fool of and exploited, and being able to stand up for those who actually are.
With your help and support, hundreds of children could experience drastic changes to their lives. It could mean the world to someone out there. Please help them, try contributing in anyway you can. Because every rupee is going to make a difference...
