About:
My name is Trisha Patnaik. I am 15 years old and in Grade 10 at EuroSchool, Wakad ,Pune .
It was quite surprising to know that there are many students from low-income homes in Maharashtra who attend school without the basic necessities, which we often take for granted. Attending school knowing that you have to sit on the hard ground, walk barefoot and carry school supplies in a so-called school bag takes a lot of determination. The determination of these students has inspired me to be part of a change and undertake this campaign.
Sitting down on the floor for long periods of time means 9 in 10 students will face posture-related problems. It also has an indirect impact on their eyesight and their ability to concentrate and study. Lack of footwear also leads to foot-related diseases and health issues.
The back-to-school kit costs just INR 900 and gives students a pair of recycled footwear, a recycled study mat to sit comfortably at school or home, a recycled school bag for books, and a cloth mask. This is a very small amount to impact a student. Fund INR 3600 for example and transform the lives of 4 students.
Please support my campaign and let us together impact the health, school attendance, and grades of these fellow students. This kit is a ray of hope that can bring these students out of their bleak future .A small amount can bring about a huge change in the lives of the these students. Start from ‘Why shouldn’t I?’ not ‘Why should I?’.
