About:
My name is Sara Garg. I am 16 years old and in Grade 11th Commerce at Billabong High International School, Malad, Mumbai. I have an active interest in the social issues and do my best to help by donating goods or money whenever I can.
I recently heard and was displeased to learn that many students from low-income homes in Maharashtra do not have basic school gear like footwear, school bags, books, and that they often sit on the hard ground as schools do not have desks and chairs. Children are told to receive an education, but there should be a proper environment for it as well.
Sitting down on the floor for long periods of time means 9 in 10 students will face posture-related problems. It also has an indirect impact on their eyesight and their ability to concentrate and study. Lack of footwear also leads to foot-related diseases and health issues, and this cannot be ignored.
I first heard about GreenSole because of a TV show 'OMG Yeh Mera India!' I found out about their back-to-school kit which would impact students in rural areas of Maharashtra and improve their health, attendance, and concentration at school.
The back-to-school kit costs just INR 900 and gives students a pair of recycled footwear, a recycled study mat to sit comfortably at school or home, a recycled school bag for books, and a cloth mask. This is a very small amount to impact a student.
Please support my campaign and let us together impact the health, school attendance, and grades of these fellow students. This kit also brings a big smile to their faces and gives them a lot of confidence. We never know the impact of a simple and generous donation.
