My name is Varun Deshpande. I am in Grade 11 Humanities, at the Billabong High School at Malad, Mumbai.
This Back to School kit will impact students in rural areas of Maharashtra and will improve their health, attendance, and concentration at school. I have undertaken this campaign because I feel sad, and concerned as a citizen of this country, more so as a person born in Maharashtra itself. I also feel that each one of us should do whatever we could to help so that all get equal opportunity specially for education so that we have a great future for our nation. It is so shocking to know that even today, there are many students from low income homes in Maharashtra who do not have basic school equipment like footwear, school bag etc. Many have to even sit on hard ground as some schools do not have desks and chairs. Sitting on the floor for long period of time means 9 out of 10 students will face problems related to posture. It also has an indirect impact on their eyesight and ability to concentrate and study. The lack of footwear also leads to foot related diseases and health problems.

You, me and together we all can change this. The back to school kit costs just INR 900 and gives students a pair of recycled footwear, a recycled study mat to sit comfortably at school or home, a recycled bag for books and a cloth mask. This is very small amount but can leave a big positive impact on the students. Kindly help to transform lives of students by Funding INR 900 or its multiples for every student kit eg Rs 1800 for 2 student kits, Rs 3600 for 4 student kits
