My name is Sharanya Ganguli. I am 13 years old and in Grade 8 at Oberoi international School.
I have undertaken this campaign because I was surprised to learn that many students from low-income homes all across the country don’t have access to basic resources for education. They don’t have bags, shoes and even a place to sit!
Walking without shoes must hurt their poor legs a lot and I am certain sitting on the cold hard floors dose not support their learning. I also believe that not having a bag is highly impractical since they won’t be able to carry their book or lean anything at school.
The back-to-school kit costs just INR 900 and gives students a pair of recycled footwear, a recycled study mat to sit comfortably at school or home, and a recycled school bag for books. This is a very small amount to impact a student. Even funding 3600 rupees could transform the lives of at-least 4 children, just imagine how many children we could help with 5 lakhs!
Please support my campaign and let us together impact the health, school attendance, and grades of these fellow students. This kit brings a big smile to their faces for sure and gives them a lot of confidence.
