My name is Simren Mehra.. I'm in Grade 12 at the KC High International School in Chennai, and I'm 16 years old.
My effort seeks to save the lives of kids who are CHD (Congenital Heart Disease) patients who come from low-income families. Due to the high cost, the families are unable to pay for their children's surgeries. I was amazed to read that Hearts for Hearts, a Chennai-based NGO, performs heart operations for a significantly cheaper price than other hospitals, which generally charge between INR 2.5 and 5L for such procedures.
Net of government subsidies and other funders, they need just INR 40000 to perform heart surgery on a child with CHD. All it takes is that to save a life and brighten up the family as well as the youngster. Their stay before and after the procedure is also included in the price.
I sincerely ask that you join me in this effort and lend your support so that, working together, we can change things and save these kids' lives. It helps that this campaign also has 80G tax benefits. The more lives we can save together, the more you can donate.
