About:
My name is Aarushi. I am 16 years old and a Grade 11 student at Canadian Intl School (CIS), Bengaluru, Karnataka.
This campaign is extremely close to my heart. I have taken up this initiative because I think being able to impact the lives of young girls (who are as old as me) will be incredible. These girls have no one to look after them and as someone who is extremely privileged and doesn't have to worry about such things I feel like this is a way I can give back to society . Makkala Dhama will transform their lives as they grow up in a secure environment that will help them focus on their studies, health and wellbeing. At Makkala Dhama, girls are provided with accommodation, food, clothing, medical care, stationery, books, etc and they attend nearby schools. The absolute expression of joy on the children's faces at the sight of even simple things like food, books or clothes that we don't even give a second thought to is another reason I took up this initiative . I feel like while as much as they have to learn from us we also have so much to learn from them - especially learning to be more grateful for the things we have.
The cost to impact a girl for a year is just INR 40000. The shelter home will provide all the necessary facilities to help them grow into independent and responsible adults. This campaign will definitely give them hope and comfort and will positively impact their lives.
Please support my campaign, as we can together support many girls and change their lives for the better.
