About:
My name is Geet. I am 15 years old and a Grade 10 student at Canadian Intl School (CIS), Bengaluru, Karnataka.
Embarking on a heartfelt campaign, I was struck with disbelief upon discovering the harsh realities faced by numerous students hailing from low-income households in Karnataka who are enrolled in government schools. The revelation that a significant number of these young minds lack the most basic school necessities, such as proper footwear and a school bag, was a stark reminder of the inequalities that persist in our society.
For these children, the simple act of sitting on the hard ground to study at school is not just a matter of inconvenience, it's a pressing issue that can have profound consequences on their well-being. The statistics are alarming. A staggering 9 out of 10 students who endure this practice are destined to encounter posture-related problems. This prolonged sitting also takes an indirect toll on their eyesight and jeopardizes their ability to concentrate and engage in effective study sessions. Furthermore, the absence of proper footwear exposes them to a host of foot-related diseases and health complications, further exacerbating their already challenging circumstances.
In response to this pressing need, I have initiated a transformative campaign aimed at providing a lifeline to these students in the form of a back-to-school kit. Priced at a modest INR 900, this kit includes a pair of recycled footwear, a recycled study mat for comfortable seating at school or home, and a recycled school bag for carrying essential books. The impact of this seemingly small investment cannot be overstated – it has the potential to significantly improve the lives of these students, offering them not just tangible resources but also a renewed sense of dignity and hope.
Consider the profound change that a fund of INR 3600 could bring about; it has the power to transform the lives of four students, covering both the cost of the kit and its distribution. By supporting this campaign, you become an integral part of a collective effort to enhance the health, attendance, and academic achievements of these deserving students. Together, let us forge a path towards a brighter future, where every child can step into the classroom with confidence, a smile on their face, and the tools they need to succeed.
