About:
My name is Ira. I am 13-year-old and a Grade 8 student at the Canadian International School in Bengaluru. I've initiated this campaign with a heartfelt concern for students from low-income homes in Karnataka, particularly those attending government schools. It astonished me to discover that many of these students lack basic school essentials like proper footwear and a school bag, often resorting to sitting on hard surfaces to study.
The repercussions of prolonged floor sitting are significant, with 9 out of 10 students facing posture-related problems. This practice indirectly affects their eyesight, concentration, and overall ability to study. Additionally, the absence of footwear exposes them to foot-related diseases and health issues, creating a challenging environment for learning.
To address these challenges, I've identified a solution the back-to-school kit. Priced at just INR 900, this kit includes a pair of recycled footwear, a study mat made from recycled materials for comfortable seating at school or home, and a recycled school bag for carrying books. The modest cost is a small investment with a substantial impact on a student's well-being. It covers not only the items but also the distribution costs.
Consider contributing INR 3600, and you can transform the lives of four students from low-income homes. This contribution goes beyond providing material possessions; it has the potential to significantly improve their health, attendance, and academic performance. The positive impact doesn't end there – the kit brings big smiles to their faces and instills confidence, creating a ripple effect in their lives.
I urge you to support my campaign, allowing us to collectively make a difference in the lives of these fellow students. Your involvement can play a crucial role in enhancing their educational experience, fostering a brighter and more promising future. Let's come together to empower these students, ensuring they have the tools they need for a successful academic journey.
