My name is Thanvee Ravikumar. I am 12-years old and a Grade 8A student at DPS, Bangalore North (Cambridge).
I am honoured to be given such a thriling and exciting oppurtunity to start a campaign, learning should be fun and these school kits help the students in rural areas around india to experience the oppurtunity to wear a schoolbag, wear shoes and sit on mats. The brilliant idea of this campaign has been lingering in my mind ever since the session I am truly greatful for this platform to experience the world of crowd funding and how this works, I am always thrilled to learn something new and this experience is just what i needed as i am willing to help those who are not priviledged.
I have undertaken this campaign because I was surprised to learn that many students from low-income homes in Karnataka, who go to school (mainly govt schools) do not have basic school gear like proper footwear or a school bag and often sit on the hard ground in order to study at school.
Sitting down on the floor for long periods of time can cause major health issue and espescially posture issues and not wearing footwear can cause wounds and germs to seep into the foot of those little children, the pain and suffering but they still come to school hoping to become something better in life and i want my campaign to be the hope of these little kids who's dreams have loads to offer.
The back-to-school kit costs just INR 950 and gives students a pair of recycled footwear, a recycled study mat to sit comfortably at school or home and a recycled school bag for books. This is a very small amount to impact a student. Even a small funding can majorly change a child's life, good education and a clean and organized educational enviorment should not only be for the priviledged.
Please support my campaign and let us help the lives of those who are in need, those who suffer everyday drowning in pain and sorrow due to very less amount of resources but the small torch of hope somewhere within them that needs to be awakened and I want to take an initiative to light the torch of hope within them.
