My name is Kanav Gupta. I am 12-years-old and in Grade 8 at the Pathways School, Gurgaon.

Perhaps my most valuable collection of memories were made during summer breaks. Out in parks and on the road, I could spread my wings far and wide for the world to see. Each shot of a basketball, each pedal on a bicycle, felt like one more moment of freedom. However, to break my freedom came one inevitable being; an empty stomach.

All it took was one noise from my stomach, and a previously average pair of legs got replaced by the legs of Usain Bolt. Most of us couldn't even skip one meal a day (At least I couldn't), and we wouldn't remain sane even if we did.

Unlike many, we have the luxury of having three meals a day to keep us at peace. However, many children in govt schools in Uttar Pradesh come from low-income homes and do not have this luxury. The happiness they experience by just receiving one meal in a day is immeasurable. Through this campaign, we have the opportunity to convert the dreams of many children into a happy reality by giving them fresh, nutritious, and tasty mid-day meals through the Akshaya Patra initiative. It takes just around 5 Starbucks coffees to give a child 232 meals in an year. Fund INR 3000 for example and support the mid-day meals for two children for an entire year.

The “Akshaya Patra's mid-day meal program”, not only motivates students to go to school but also ensures that they are attentive at school. It impacts attendance, health, and grades at school.
