Hi, I am Pratika Chhajed a student of Class 12th of DPS, Bangalore North. I love designing and I want to become an industrial designer and help the society. In future, I would like to design products for specially abled people and make their life simpler and fun. A few days ago, our school had a program where the team from Fueladream.com told us about a crowdfunding program which is going to help raise funds for children who are suffering from Muscular Dystrophy. I feel this is the beginning towards achieving my goal. Two common forms of DMD (Duchenne and Becker) are caused by a genetically inherited deficiency of the muscle protein dystrophin. This condition mostly affects boys. One in every 1200 people are either born with, or develop late-onset muscular dystrophy. The fact that a contribution of just Rs 20000 can fund the treatment of an underprivileged child suffering from DMD for an entire year was a surprise to me. Thanks to the efforts of the NGO called DART made me realise that I must do something to help. DART is almost on the verge of finding a cure for this condition. I strongly believe that funding even a small amount in this campaign can help children suffering from DMD. Please fund my campaign and make a difference to their lives.
