Hi, I am _____Sai Dhruv___ a student of Class _10 b_th of DPS, Bangalore North. Let me tell you more about this campaign of mine. A few days ago, our school had a program where the team from Fueladream.com told us about a crowdfunding program which is going to help raise funds for children who are suffering from Muscular Dystrophy. I got to know of this disease because one of my schoolmates Karanveer Singh suffers from this. He is a very intelligent person, only brought down by this disease. There are many unfortunate kids across India who suffer from this disease. The actual effects of the disease are that the disease causes progressive deterioration of muscles until the person is no longer able to actually use their limbs and needs help to do even simple things such as tying laces, brushing their teeth or even combing their hair. The major effect is that people suffering from this disease are no longer able to walk or move around without the help of a wheelchair. The sad part about it is that most don't survive past their teens. The recent breakthroughs of science have increased their life expectancy, but the treatment is very costly. This is where DART, the NGO comes in. Their efforts have reduced the cost of the treatment and have given a real chance to the patients to improve their condition. The fact that a contribution of just Rs 20000 can fund the treatment of a underprivileged child suffering from DMD for an entire year thanks to the efforts of DART made me realise that I must do something to help. I strongly believe that we can help children suffering from DMD and make a difference to their lives.
