About:
Hi, I am Gayathri Reddy a student of Class 10th of DPS, Bangalore North. I like learning about facts and about anything that is affecting the mankind . So when a few days ago, our school had a program where the team from Fueladream.com told us about a crowdfunding program which is going to help raise funds for children who are suffering from Dunchenne Muscular Dystrophy I was more than pleased about the idea of helping someone with such a disability and with no better way than crowd funding . Now if you don't know what Dunchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) is, it is a group of diseases that results in increasing weakness and loss of muscle mass. In DMD, abnormal genes (mutations) interfere with the production of proteins needed to form healthy muscle. There are many different kinds of DMD. Symptoms of the most common variety begin in childhood, mostly common in boys. Other types don't surface until adulthood. They suffer to get up and do any daily activities themselves. Unlike us they need someones help 24/7 and wheelchair bound .
There's no cure for DMD. But medications and therapy can help manage symptoms and slow the course of the disease.
The fact that a contribution of Rs 20,000 can help one suffering from DMD for an entire year. I have set a goal to at least collect Rs 40,000 by the end of my campaign that lasts for 21 days because I strongly believe that we can help children suffering from DMD and make a difference to their lives. So I request each and everyone of you to contribute as much as you can to help people suffering from DMD like a school mate of mine , Karanveer Singh who was a topper in school and scored 98% in his 10th boards and is currently in 12th grade , he is also an talented guitarist .He has an amazing spirit to not give up .His disabilility is the only thing slowing him down from following his dreams.I have seen him needing help to get down from his car and to mve around .His mom who is a teacher in our school along with his dad started the oragnization , DART to help find cure and help people suffering from this disability.
'Children with disabilities are like butterflies with broken wings .They are just as beautiful as others ,but they need help to spread their wing'. So, let us contribute enough to spread sombody's wings so that they can forever fly and chase their dreams.
