My name is Samik Praveen. I am 13 years old and a Grade 8 student at EuroSchool, Airoli.

I have decided to take this campaign because I was honestly bewildered to learn that many students from low-income homes in rural Maharashtra, who go to school (mainly govt schools) do not even have basic school necessities like proper shoes or sandals or a school bag and often sit a hard floor while studying at school.

Sitting down on the floor for long periods of time can lead to many problems in 9th and 10th. The students may face posture-related problems. It also has an indirect negative impact on their eyesight and their ability to concentrate and study. this leads to them getting uninterested in studies. Lack of footwear also leads to foot-related diseases and health issues.

The back-to-school kit costs just INR 950 and gives students a pair of recycled footwear, a recycled study mat to sit comfortably at school or home and a recycled school bag for books. This is a very small amount to impact a student. Fund INR 1900 for example and transform the lives of 2 students.

The bags are very colourful and come a variety of patterns and designs. These bags and mats will help the students easily carry books and comfortably sit wile studying. The footwear provided will alow the to walk to school with no worry of stepping on stones.
