About:
Sundar and I are currently championing a crowd funding campaign for Gramonnati a non-profit started by a cousin with two of his colleagues from Cisco. He is an IITian who has taken a sabbatical from Cisco after 20 years of service. The differentiator for Gramonnati is that they are focused on engaging retired service personnel - from Army, Navy and Air Force including people from National Cadet Corps (NCC) - to train them to be rural entrepreneurs. Gramonnati is also focused on educating rural young men and women through Computer Centers that would be equipped with learning materials from Class 1 through Class 12 as well as digital literacy including financial literacy for rural folks. As of today, they have already set up two Computer Learning Centers in the states of Madya Pradesh and Bihar. The Crowd funding campaign is hosted by Fueladream.com and is eligible for tax benefits for Indian citizensbut not for foreign nationals. However, Gramonnati will be receiving clearances from Government of India to receive funds from abroad.
Our goal is to raise about Rs.100,000 in the next two weeks. The funds raised will go a long way in sustaining Gramonnati efforts to assist rural youth and retired armed service personnel to bring about the needed transformation in the villages.
Please do support our Gramonnati campaign generously.
