About:
I am a dental surgeon and a public health professional by training. I have been
working for the past 15 years as a researcher, advocate, movement builder and policy enabler in the area of non-communicable diseases. As the principal researcher of large multi-centric studies in schools as well as worksites, I have
not only mapped the prevalence and determinants of non-communicable and lifestyle diseases in vulnerable populations, but also developed effective programmes for reducing their burden in these resource-constrained settings. I
firmly believe that community-based interventions empower people to take control of their own health and makes them aware of the different health risks
they are facing. This holds the key to help protect our people from the deadly scourge of non-communicable diseases.
