Hi, I am Ananya Upadhyay of grade 11, studying at the Deens Academy, Bengaluru. I like watching movies, travelling a lot and reading books as well as socializing with people around. I have taken up an initiative recently, to help some children make their lives better than what they currently are.
Let me tell you more about this campaign of mine. A few days ago, our school had a program where the team from Fueladream.com told us about how crowdfunding works and how we can use that to make life better for others by raising funds. The fact that a contribution of just Rs 5000 can make a difference to the life of someone who is suffering from mental disability, made me realise that I must do something to help others ,who I strongly believe that we can transform their lives.
The happiness and the degree of satisfaction that you get after, is impossible to put into words.
We see people with mental disabilities all around and mostly express pity on the their state without realising that they have potential too. I was introduced to how the team at Sambhav Foundation is working and training these people so that they can cope with day-to-day activities and bring them into mainstream life.
