Hi! My name is Sneha and I am studying in grade 10 at the Primus school in Bangalore. My passions include drawing, singing, dancing, writing, and most of all working towards bettering our society and environment.

I learnt a few days ago, from the nice staff from Fueladream.com that a shocking, incurable disease had it's fingers wrapped around the lives of millions of children in India. This disease is DMD, Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. The DART (Dystrophy Annihilation Research Trust) organisation, through this crowdfunding platform, is looking to raise awareness about this tragic disease and search for a cure. However, until then, bearing in mind that there isn't one yet, we have volunteered to set up a campaign to help raise just Rs. 20,000 (yes only 20,000) For treatment for an ENTIRE one year for a child.
I was surprised to learn about DMD and about how it can be fatal for a large percentage of those who suffer from it. The fact that 5 Lakh boys in India itself suffer from that was a heart breaking. Building awareness for it and helping those from underprivileged families manage DMD are key elements of this campaign of mine.

The fact that an amount of just INR 20000 can fund the treatment of an underprivileged child suffering from DMD for an entire year thanks to the efforts of the DART made me realize that I must do something to help. If we are so blessed to be able to do our daily jobs without the hindrance of a muscular disorder, then I rightly believe that I, and as many other people as well, should help these children who aren't. It's the least we can do
