My name is Pranav Nair of Grade 10 from Primus school in Bangalore.
Recently, I signed up for a program to fund and help raise awareness about children with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). DMD is a fatal disease that has an extremely low survival rate, affecting young boys. The disease prevents the release of dystrophin, a chemical that helps in muscle maintenance. Slowly, those affected by DMD have all their muscles deteriorate, until eventually, their heart stops beating. Over 5 Lakh boys in India alone suffer from DMD.
An amount of just INR 20000 can fund the treatment of an underprivileged child suffering from DMD for an entire year. This is done in partnership with an NGO called DART(Dystrophy Annhiliation Research Trust), that has worked on developing a cure to DMD, and supporting children with DMD. Recently, they have managed to develop a medicine for DMD and are planning on clinical trials. Society has helped us make it to where we are today. It's time we gave back to members of society who need help.
Please support my campaign and help these children who need your help.
