My name is Om Pawar and I am in Grade 10 studying in Bombay Scottish School, Powai. My hobbies include swimming and cricket.
I have undertaken this campaign because I think the gift of education is something that every child deserves but not all of them are lucky to receive. I cannot imagine the plight of underprivileged children going to school without notebooks or pencils which are the bare essentials for any student.
Writing, doodling and taking down notes are activities that sharpen our learning, give rise to creativity and promote mental activity. They are simple yet meaningful acts that we privileged kids often take for granted. Fortunately we are blessed with a life wherein we don't have to think twice before writing every single sentence that goes in our notebooks. These kids, however, are not as lucky.
The fact that these books and pencils are made out of recycled milk tetra packs and vegetable dyes should also be taken into consideration. They are exquisite looking and brightly coloured and will surely put a smile on the children's faces. They clearly send a message about how important recycling is and how we as a society are actively taking steps to promote it and preserve our environment.
The fact that a contribution of just 600 Rs can make a difference to the life of a fellow student in a rural school made me realize that I should definitely do everything I can to help. I believe that the tools for proper education are vital and should be made available to everyone irrespective of their financial condition.
Please support my campaign and be a part of this unique experience where we can change peoples lives.
