This is Devika Maniraj studying in Grade XI at the Deens Academy, Whitefield, Bengaluru.

Our school organized an interesting program where we met representatives from Fueladream.com aimed at helping individuals with amputated limbs walk again. Fueladream.com collects the funds through crowdfunding and I consider this as a genuine platform to contribute to the society..

It was difficult for me to imagine how people live their lives without a limb, as we tend to take that for granted. But, the idea of crowdfunding made me realise that I can also contribute to make a change in the lives of those individuals. Together, we can help someone fuel their dream to walk again. The fact that a contribution of just INR 11000 can transform the life of someone , made me realise that such a minimal help from our side can an actually make a huge impact.

The contribution will be used towards buying and fitting prosthetics for the needy in a few districts of Karnataka. This also includes follow-up medical checkup for a fixed duration. I would again like to reiterate that this will help men, women, the young and the elderly and will have a cascading effect on their families as well. A lot of these poor villagers will also be able to start working again for a living and be independent.

Please support my campaign and let us together bring mobility and freedom back into the lives of at least a few individuals. Please spread this cause.
