About:
My name is Akshath Indusekhar. I am a Grade 11 student at Vidyaniketan School, Bangalore.
“The Dignity Project” is a campaign focused on raising funds to provide girls from poor homes with sanitary pads for a year and a hygiene kit. A sanitary pad is one of the basic necessities for girls and the hygiene kit consists of simple needs like undergarments, a towel and 2 soaps. It is shocking but true that many of the girls do not have access to these bare necessities. The cost of supplying and distributing this is just INR 500 for every girl.
With your support I am targeting to help 40 girls for a year, helping them transform their lives. If I raise more I can help change the lives of more girls. Not having pads and undergarments should not be a reason for girls to drop out of school. But it, unfortunately, is the biggest reason.
I understand this problem and I am convinced that we should do something about it. Let's ensure that girls from less privileged backgrounds, receive this basic support. Please join me in enhancing the quality of life of the underprivileged school going girls and help them focus on their education and emerge successful.
Looking forward to your support!
Thank you!
