Hi, My name is Priyanka Raghunathan and I am studying A Levels ( Grade 12) at Vidyashilp Academy in Bangalore.

A few days earlier, my school hosted a program along with Fueladream.com who told us about their crowdfunding platform which was going to help raise funds for those who are in urgent need for cataract surgeries. During the program, I was shocked to find out that over 80% of blindness in India is caused due to cataracts, accounting for over 11 million people with cataracts just in India and 17 million around the globe.
Learning this, I could not let such a grave matter go unheeded. Most of us cannot imagine what it would be to suddenly go blind. The visually impaired go through millions of struggles everyday which most of us cannot imagine facing. I realised that I had to do something to make even the smallest difference.
The fact that a contribution of just Rs 1000 can make a difference to the life of someone & give them back their sight made me realize that I must do something to help. I was really surprised that it takes just Rs 1000 to make a difference.
I strongly believe that we can help those who are needy and in the process, transform their lives. Please support my campaign and let us together bring light into the lives of these people. Keep funding this till the last date. While my goal is INR 20,000, I would like to raise much more than that and help more elderly people see again.
INR 1000 is what you and I would spend if we went out on a weekend to a theatre to watch a movie and have popcorn and lunch. All it takes for us is to give up one day out to change one life.
