Hi, My name is Simone Govias and I am in Grade 10 at Vidyashilp Academy in Bangalore.

So, a few days ago, our school had a program where the team from Fueladream.com told us about a crowdfunding program which is going to help raise funds for the elderly who urgently need to undergo cataract surgeries, and at that moment I could relate to a few years ago when my grandmother too, had to undergo Cataract Surgery. We were educated with different facts related to Cataract and it's victims. I shocked to learn that there are around 11 million people who are impacted in India because of this and some of them go permanently blind because they cannot afford the surgery.

I can't even imagine the pain they're going through, to be able to see one minute and to be blind the next but what gave me hope was the fact that a contribution of just Rs 1000 can make a difference to the life of someone and give them back their sight. This helped me realize that I must do something to make that difference in their lives, to give them the miracle they pray for. Believe me, I'm still shocked that it takes just Rs.1000, the amount we spend on going to the mall or to the movies or even dinner, to be able to change their lives.
