I am Dhruv Arora in grade 11 from The Riverside school, Ahmedabad. I am a huge sports lover and love playing them as well as watching them. I play football and I love the game because it brings people together. It is like an Universal language that unites people from all over the world irrespective of their cast, religion, age, gender or color. Over the years I've had the privilege of being able to play the game and I am thankful for it. I have also worked with the people/children who can't play it and have problems with day to day chores. We all look at specially abled people with eyes of sympathy but that isn't what they need, and I can say this as I have interacted with them, but what they need is for us to consider them equal because while they might not be able to do what we can do but there are also certain things that they can do and we can't.


It is the way the society looks at people who are specially abled and it isn't a bad thing, I did it too but I understood this fault and that it was us who defined them rather than their actions - which are known to usually define people. Over the years there have been people like Helen Keller, Stephen Hawkings and Sudha Chandran - a classical dancer who lost her leg but still performed internationally as well as in movies. It is this that motivates me that each child is an untapped challenge, who if provided a platform can do wonders. This is the reason I have decided to partner with Prabhat, an NGO, that provides housing education and constant support for one child for a year in just 12500 rupees.

As an individual, I am trying to raise INR 25000 to impact 2 children. If I collect more funds I can transform the lives of more such children.
